Alan J. Jacob

Alan M. Jacob is an Illinois licensed attorney with a primary focus on Criminal Defense. Alan has successfully defended clients in both Federal and State court proceedings in Illinois and Wisconsin. His background as a police officer in California and Illinois gives Alan a unique perspective and insight into the criminal justice system generally and law enforcement techniques, behaviors and intentions specifically. Rather than relying on a formula-based defense, Alan creates "custom-fit" solutions for his clients, usually resulting in a not guilty finding. With a result-oriented, bottom-line attitude, Alan aggressively advocates for his clients.

Alan earned his J.D. in 2006 from The John Marshall Law School. He is a member of the Trial Bar of both the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Alan was certified as a Police Officer by the State of Illinois in 1996 and as a Police Officer by the the State of California in 2001. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a rifleman from 1993-2001 in both active and reserve capacity. In addition to the foregoing, Alan has dedicated his time and efforts toward the betterment of the Assyrian community and its youth. Specifically, he has been an Assyrian-language instructor since 2009 and is currently teaching at St. Andrews Church in Glenview, Illinois. He has also been a member of the Assyrian Police Association from 1995 to 2002, where he has mentored Assyrian youth, guided community leaders, and been involved in various outreach initiatives.
